Landau-Kleffner syndrome is a very rare disease that affects the brain and nervous system that usually first appears as a hearing problem. Originally discovered in 1957, only 160 cases were documented by 1990. It is often confused with Asperger’s Syndrome or other Autism Spectrum Disorders.
