Before they concentrate on their course at the university, junior college students in Singapore get to explore more choices first in their studies. Learning chemistry at this level is no different. Students don’t need to choose which from AO, A, and S (Alternative Ordinary, Advanced, and Special) papers to take anymore. Instead, they get to pick from H1 (Higher 1), H2 (Higher 2), and H3 (Higher 3) levels. This new set of categories give students a better foundation in chemistry subjects, as well as allow them to acquire skills that will assist their studies at the university.

While O Level focuses more on solving formulas, actual experiments, and getting familiar with the periodic table, A Level Chemistry takes it a notch higher, providing a separate method. Naturally, students must have finished their chemistry at O Level first before they are taught chemistry in junior college.

For H1 level, students learn the fundamental chemistry principles, which they also learn to apply on solving problems. They will learn fundamentals in physical, inorganic, and organic chemistry, as well as subject matters like Stoichiometry, Atomic Structure, Redox Reactions, Equilibria, Chemical Energetics, Chemical Bond, and Reaction Kinetics along with others.

H2 Chemistry has half the breadth but similar intensity as H1. It covers more topics than H1, though offers the same intensity chemistry learning. It prepares students to learn for the subject at university level. Topics in H1 Chemistry are included, plus a wider variety of topics, such as Chemical Periodicity, Chemistry of Transition Elements, and Electrochemistry.

For those studying chemistry at H2 level and who want to switch to H1 chemistry, they may do so if they have their school’s consent. Similarly, H1 chemistry students can change to H2 as well. But they won’t be able to just take up H3. To study chemistry at H3 level, they must first complete their H2 chemistry because the H3 course is designed to build on the knowledge already taught at H2.

H3 level is, as they say, for students who wish to pursue their passion. Learning chemistry at H3 level means the student wishes to stretch their knowledge in the subject. Not everyone who completes H2 Chemistry can progress to H3, however. Schools can just pick a few for H3 program under their optional admission.

If you develop Ammonium Nitrate and Potassium Hydroxide or Chloride, it seems sensible Potassium Nitrate. Commonly known as to as KNO3 in chemical and scientific notes, it is why fireworks together with other pyrotechnics possible. It is also utilized in many scientific experiments at school.

Not recommended being made inside due to the potential risks it’s associated with, it is probably the essential components in gunpowder and fireworks. It is best created in labs where proper preventive steps are then chemist, educated students and professionals. Upon mixing the sun and rain, a reaction is created getting on the output of toxic ammonia gas.

If you want to argue you could concentrate on it in your town of residence, keep in mind that another is supplied. If Potassium Chloride rather than Potassium Hydroxide may be used, there won’t be considered an opportunity of poisonous gas. The 2nd can be acquired from cold packs but safe, it’s suggested that you just purchase Potassium Chloride in the local store rather to protect against potential accidents.

KNO3 is continually manufactured because without a supply, the soldiers, policemen, navy officers and other similar authorities won’t feel as confident without the useful explosives necessary for their careers. Potassium Nitrate has its importance for many people.

KNO3 features its own significance inside the explosives industry and not simply that, it’s useful in ways than the usual single, it is probably the important compounds for your atmosphere. It warrants being appreciated more than exactly what it are capable of doing incorporated within the sights and thrills of fireworks together with other magical effects. Beyond everything, it assists to accelerate the pace of decomposition. From it, tree slumps together with other organic matters are better labored with.

Another factor that should be noted is the fact that KNO3 plays a significant role in stopping microbial infection. Within the science of preparing food, particularly in maintained goods, it permits salami, beef jerky and other sorts of meat to become prolonged as well as appear more palatable by providing them their pink color.

Potassium Nitrate features its own uses, indeed. There’s more purpose in it than an component in pyrotechnic works of art and gunpowder. Don’t notice only included in the explosives that could harm anybody, acknowledge exactly what it are capable of doing for your atmosphere too for you, too.

Chemistry is possibly the most difficult division of science, according to a lot of O Level pupils. Some of their peers would dispute that physics deserves the special distinction, but, naturally, it all comes down to one’s choices and forte. But for students who discover it hard to commit to memory data, Chemistry is the curse of their being. The science topic calls for fine memorization skills and an aptitude to answer algebraic equations. But it is not all about memorization, however. Even if you commit to memory the full periodic table, it still won’t get you anywhere if you don’t comprehend how they work.

Fortunately for O Level students, there are some techniques they can employ while they are learning for Chemistry even if they don’t have superb memorization skills or even a passion for it.

Nosiness would get you places in chemistry. just examining how things work in your day-to-day life can help you comprehend the lesson more. Those easy things that you usually do not give a subsequent thought to, such for example how baking soda whitens tooth or why dough expands as flour mixes with yeast, will look simpler to understand than by memorizing chemical reactions on paper.

Things that are not common are not easy to understand. Memorizing the elements won’t come easy if you are not common with them. pick up to know the elements by giving them nicknames. create codes that you discover everyday enough so you can easily memorize them. For example, replace mango for manganese, cereal for cerium, and Europe for europium.

Also try joining study groups on the internet. There are web based learning group sites available for students studying O Level chemistry or even other science topics in advanced levels that can help you learn quicker. Learning with fellow pupils from other universities can also help you pick up study methods.

Some students fill their textbooks by means of colored highlighters to help them recall the words better. Others use flashcards. These methods are only effective if you actually want them to work. Have a firm command of your study outlook. Look forward to a study session. The most effective process in learning chemistry is simply by maintaining an optimistic mindset. Chemistry is only hard to learn if you tell yourself that it is.

When preparing for your GCSE Level Chemistry exam, rereading your notes and your course hand-outs shouldn’t be the only things you do. Knowing how the exams are designed, how it is administered and how it is assessed is necessary. You can easily achieve this by checking out old exams on the subject which can be easily accessed from sites online and in libraries.

Getting a GSCE is not the ultimate goal here. The science exams aim to help you with real life situations since these give you knowledge and skills that you can use in the real world. Learning Chemistry in particular enables you to understand basic principles behind products and services people use in everyday life.

Atoms are important in this line of study and occupy a huge part of these exams and this is why students are expected to know about atomic structure, theories and composition, to name a few. Tests on this topic determine if a student has enough knowledge regarding atomic equations, formulas and associated information that are connected with various chemical processes.

Different atoms have many differing characteristics, which is why it is ideal that you be familiar to each of them. Being familiar with and understanding your periodic table of elements, why it’s arranged in such a way and how it is put together is also important. This understanding will be put to the test as well and you will be required to know how combine and react toward one another. Also part of this study is principles that discuss intermolecular forces, ionic and covalent bonding as well as shapes of different molecules and ions.

Chemical reactions and other topics associated with it cover a huge breadth of knowledge and these GSCE exams in Chemistry deal with its various aspects like kinetics, energetics and equilibrium. Practical as well as objective knowledge regarding bases and acids will also be assessed. Questions that revolve around organic chemistry, reactions, principles and theories associated with it will also be brought up.

To assure yourself of getting good scores when it comes to these tests, you’ll need to gather all of your information and notes and do a comparison of what you have with a class syllabus or a checklist. If you do not have such a checklist, ask for one from your teacher’s assistant or your teacher. This will help you find out which lectures you missed out on, obtain and put together helpful notes, and which books, chapters and readings you should go through again.

To pass high school chemistry, you need to be able to learn and understand chemical concepts and facts, solve chemical problems, and apply chemical rules. You will want to know the key objectives of chemistry and describe the scientific method. In particular, you have to learn about compounds and molecules, atoms and ions, chemical change, matter, measurement, and more.

In order to pass highschool chemistry class, you will have to memorize the SI base units and be able to build derived units. Density and speed are derived units you can use as conversion factors. Next, you will have to distinguish between random error and systemic error, measurements and exact numbers, accuracy and precision.

Regarding matter, you should know the major regions and groups in the periodic table. You need to classify samples of matter as pure substances, homogenous mixtures, heterogeneous mixtures, compounds, and elements. Know the difference between gases, solids, and liquids as well.

Atoms and ions should be paid attention to as well. Be familiar with the Dalton’s atomic theory and learn about modern atomic history and its early development. Be able to predict common ions, formed by a key group element, and know the concept of atomic weight.

You should learn about the main types of chemical bonding as to understand compounds and molecules. Be able to distinguish between molecular formulas, empirical formulas, and structural formulas when it comes to compounds. Remember that there are formulas for simple ionic compounds, addition compounds, inorganic acids, binary compounds, and polyatomic ions.

These are some of the concepts you should know well to pass high school chemistry. You should also be familiar with the concept of molarity, chemical change and energy, the quantum theory, and the various properties of solutions. Be sure to underline important problems, questions, and concepts your teacher mentions as possible questions on the exam. You may not be required to learn all of the concepts above, depending on what you have covered in class. Thus, it is important not to miss class so that you know what kind of test questions and material to focus on. For obvious reasons, leaving class early and attending classes only on quiz days is a no-no. Copying the answers from somebody else may get you an A, but the risk is not really worth it.

A chemistry class may not be that difficult if you have mastered some essential math skills. You have to be familiar with fractions, logarithms, negative numbers, scientific notation, and exponents. You have to be able to write and solve algebraic equations as well.

Finally, you need to be responsible if you want to pass high school chemistry. Let your teacher know if you cannot solve some equation or do not understand certain chemical rule or concept. You should not be afraid to ask your instructor for help. You probably won’t excel in your chemistry class if you don’t like chemistry. See if there is something you like about the class and focus on it. It will be easy to pass high school chemistry with positive attitude.

Animal testing is a big issue that people are debating all over the world and this issue has many standout points that need to be evaluated, like the fact that this is a way of sacrificing- animals have no say against it, another issue that brings on debate is the fact that animals react differently to products than humans do, and the other fact might just be an obvious one- animals have other uses to the world that are more humane instead of animal testing. How do you feel about this?

How do you feel about this? I know I can get a little crazy when you start to talk about animals, I had a copper spaniel until the age of 8 then he got hit by a car, I cried for weeks and weeks. My smart Dad got me another dog- a fox terrier which has been the best, smartest dog ever; I can’t even imagine someone wanting to test on him.

When we test on animals it’s quite obvious the animal has no choice, in fact many animals are raised for this purpose alone. It seems weird to me that we test on animals so we can live better somehow. I don’t consider myself to have the same gene pool as a mink, rat, or what ever other animal they deep appropriate to test on so why test on animals in the first place, are they really going to have the same reaction to products as I would?

The next point that I would like to address is that animals react to products differently than we do. Various products have different kind of chemicals that are used inside that product to create the “perfect” product, and some humans have allergic reactions to certain types of chemicals. So what makes us think that if we test a product , on animals that this reaction will have the same effect as animals?

When they test a product what are looking for, an associate in my chemistry class where we now study organic compounds and polymers suggested to me that it might not be the reaction that they are looking for so much as the “shelf life”, or a cheaper way to make the product that might be the means of testing.

Animals were created for many reasons, like cows are used for milk, cheese and meat. Dogs are a family pet, or can be used and trained so that they can help the blind with crossing the street. Cats, turtles, hamsters, fish… some animals should just be used as a pet or as a friend for someone to talk to. The ecosystem that we live in needs animals, for food, their existence provides the earth to be the way it is, this is the reason that we are trying to keep animals from becoming extinct. With animal testing scientist- if you can call them that, are cutting down the survival of these animals, which is cutting down the existence of ourselves, its like a suicide wish list if you want animal testing to keep going the way that it is.

How do you feel about products being tested on animals? Would you change makeup companies if you knew they practiced this? They do print the ingredients on the package, maybe if you’re a bit squeamish about this procedure you could look for more natural/organic products. Some companies have posted on their labels that they do not animal test their products, but that can be a relatively sneaky term so do your homework if it really bothers you. The internet also has many wonderful sites where you can actually look up the product you are using and it will give you all the stats.

Feel at peace with your family’s medical situation by having a health advocate look out for you.

As some students say, chemistry is the nuissance of their existence. And while other students would dispute that the special title goes to physics, it of course all comes down to one’s choices and strengths. Chemistry requires good memorization skills and a head for fixing algebraic equations. So for students who don’t like to memorize, they find the subject very difficult. However, bear in mind that memorization is not the sole thing you have to do. You likewise need to understand how things work to completely get chemistry.

If you are a student studying A Level or O Level Chemistry, you can survive the class by using tricks in your study habits. You can master the class even if you hate it.

To understand chemistry, you first have to get curious. You simply need to ask how things work in life. Observe things in your everyday life that you don’t typically observe, like how baking soda whitens teeth or how yeast can make a dough swell when fused with flour. You will get to understand the science as well as the chemical reactions involved in everything when you begin to show curiosity about how they function.

Memorizing elements is not easy especially if they are merely unknown to you. So instead of attempting to memorize every element, try to come up with your own “codes”. Say for instance, you need to list the metal reactivity sequence. Get the first letters of every word in descending order and make your own words from it. The list starts with Francium, Caesium, Rubidium, Potassium, Sodium, and so forth. Perhaps it would more easily stick in your head if you say “France Creates Ruby, Potatoes, and Salt.” It doesn’t have sense, true, but it’s a lot easier to master than the elements.

Others see using highlighters on their books and flashcards helpful in studying. But all these techniques will not succeed if you don’t have control of your outlook. Probably the most successful trick in studying chemistry is by having an optimistic mindset. Schedule a study session and really look ahead to it everyday. Chemistry is hard to learn if you say that it is.

Studying for GCSE Chemistry can be very challenging for students. Whether it is A Level or O Level Chemistry, prepare for it by applying studying tricks. (6589).
